Awards Throwback. Dale Murray: Angel Investor and Non Exec Director Xero

In 1999 Dale Murray co-founded Omega Logic, which launched electronic mobile phone top-ups in Britain alongside the mobile phone networks and other “top-up solution providers”.

By 2005 Omega Logic was processing £450 million of top-ups per annum in Britain and the USA, generating £25 million of net revenue, and Dale completed the disposal of her interests in the company to First Data Corporation.

She then began to invest in startups in various sectors including software-as-a-service (SaaS), ecommerce, fintech and digital publishing. Dale was awarded British Angel Investor of the Year in 2011 (UK Business Angels Association).

She served on the Business Taskforce for David Cameron, the former British Prime Minister, and published a report on EU Red Tape in 2013. Debretts named her one of the “500 most influential people in Britain” in 2015 and she’s also enjoyed a number of TV appearances, including on the BBC’s show “The Apprentice – You’re Fired”.

Dale was honoured with a CBE in June 2013 by HM the Queen, for services to business.
